SAVING TIPS
- Close any drapes or blinds to help keep heat inside the home.
- Keep your fireplace damper closed when the fireplace is not in use.
- In the winter reverse your ceiling fan motors.
- Use a programmable thermostat to automatically lower and raise the temperature.
- If wood is plentiful where you live consider a woord burning stove.
- Make sure your windows and doors are properly insulated.
- Check to see if your windows have fresh putty.
- Cut your heating bill in half by weather stripping doors and windows.
- Each degree below 78 will increase your energy use by 3-4%.
- Install ceiling fans. This can make you feel cooler by 3-8 degrees.
- Make sure the fan is blowing down, removing the hot air that surrounds your body.
- For central AC install a programmable thermostat with a built in timer.
- Install an energy efficient ac.
- Make sure your ac is sized properly.
- Clean or replace your AC Filter every month.
